“A former governor of Abia State, former presidential candidate and the founder of the struggling Progressive People Alliance party which won elections in Imo and Abia in its first year in existence has quit the party he helped found to team up with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Chief Orji Uzor Kalu’s decision to join the ruling Party is said to be in response to the call by the Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha and national leader of the APC. Owelle Rochas Okorocha urged the Igbos to come together under the ruling APC. Kalu will be a valuable partner to the Imo governor in his bid to ensure that the Igbos get their due share in the political cake of the country.
