Okezie Ikpeazu Orders Review Of Lands Whose 99 Years Leases Have Expired – by Demian Ifeanyi Igbokwe

According sources, the Abia State Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has set up a committee to review all Aba Crown Lands. A social media blogger Demian Ifeanyi Igbokwe posted as follows:

My dear Abians,

Are you aware that Government of Abia State under the order of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has appointed a committee with the Commissioner of Lands & Transport to review all Aba Crown land? Lands whose 99 years leases have expired and over 1000 plots of lands leases are now open in Aba for the intervention of Government of Abia State?

The meaning of these is that even if you bought your land in Azikiwe, Jubilee, Margret, Calabar, Ekenna, Tenant Roads, etc, like 5, 10, 20 or even 1 year ago. Once the lease from the original Ngwa land is above 99 years, you stand to lose your landed property and your family inheritance will be reverted to the original Ngwa family that sold it at first.

The irony of it all is that the committee members are all from Obingwa without one person from any other Community because Obingwa people believes that they own Aba Crown Land?

Even the land ownership rites meant for the Ndi Eze and his Community, elders and youths etc, have been diverted to hand-pick people by the governor to only those whose maternal homes are from Obingwa like Chief Obioma Mgbeoji and his junior brother Ikechi Mgbeoji. Abians and Ndi Igbo that contributed in developing Aba, is it fair?

Please this is not about PDP or APC politics. Ndi Igbo Ibem from Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi, Enugu and of course, Abia State, this is time to speak out against this.

I voted Okezie so it’s not about trying to pull his government down. Those cabals that feels they can do whatever pleases them in Abia and get away with it are at it again and only our collective voices is the only thing that will call him to order.

Let’s say no to Nepotism and stealing of our inheritance by Okezie Ikpeazu and his 70 thieves.
