All things bright and beautiful the Lord made them all!
Today, the Esse brothers of Igbere honored their father, Late. Chief Nwokeka Oji Abiai Esse, Ohamadike Igbere by supporting the ongoing Igbere Secondary School fencing project. We do so not out of abundance of resources but out of love for the project and our hometown Igbere.
Our father was PIVOTAL to the establishment of Igbere Secondary School (ISS) having worked as a Principal Officer in then East Central State Secondary School Board under Mr. Ofia Nwali, Deputy Sole Administrator to Dr. Ukpabai Asika, the Sole Administrator of then East Central State. I remember as a kid, Chief P. I. Chukwu popularly known as PIC coming to Enugu to officially tell our Dad that his Igbere people wanted to establish a Secondary School in Igbere to alleviate the trouble of Igbere youths traveling to other neighboring towns for education.
The benefits of that decision and foresight is evident today for all of us to see. Just take a look at Igbere scholars that are old boys and girls of ISSI and you have nothing but admiration for our fathers and forefathers for having the vision to build ISS.
It is for the above reasons that we join others in support of this noble, onerous project of fencing ISSI. The merits of fencing the Secondary School to protect the students and curtail perambulating is not debatable. We thank you Lord that we are able to. To you O’ God be all the Glory!

Note: “Perambulate” is a word that was used frequently in my Alma mater, Government College Umuahia because of the fence of the school. To perambulate without permission incurred discipline lol
